What to Expect After Sealants
 

• A Registered Dental Hygienist as well as your dentist applies sealants.

• It is normal for the bite to feel "tall" for a day or two after application.

• A "sour" taste is normal.

• You may eat and/or drink immediately after the sealants are placed.

• Chewing hard candy and/or ice are not good for your teeth and can also damage your sealants.

• Frequent consumption of acidic or sugary drinks such as soda, Gatorade or Powerade will decrease the life of sealants.
